Ok, this is my first time - ever - writing a blog. I'm not really sure why anyone would care what I have to say but if you are reading this maybe you do. So, thanks and here goes.
The clock is ticking. We are only 5 days away from reclaiming our brewery in the fabulous and beautiful neighborhood of Kensington. If any of you have been following our brewery drama then you know that in late summer we split from our former brewering partners (who's names I am tired of mentioning...so I'm not going to) and started Philadelphia Brewing Co. In the split we retained the building, equipment and employees. Not a bad deal, if you ask me. The only problem is that those other people have been renting our facility from us so we haven't actually started brewing. But the time has come for them to get out and for us to get started!
We will be brewing 4 initial beers: a hoppy Kolsch/Pilsner hybrid (Kenzinger); an IPA (Newbold IPA); a Belgian inspired White (Walt Wit); and a Belgian inspired Farmhouse Red w/rye (Rowhouse Red). We have been doing some test batches that you can read about on our website - www.philadelphiabrewing.com. We have been drinking lots of other beers, which we haven't done in years. It's been good trying other things but we are so ready to start drinking our own again!
Hey, this blogging thing wasn't so hard after all. So I guess I'll be writing some updates from time to time. In the meantime, definitely check out our website to get all the latest and greatest updates as we move forward into 2008 with our new beers and new brewery!
